Daddy's Lil Angel
I heard your voice from afar
I don't remember when,
All I do remember is sharing space
With my better half, my twin.
Then it got awfully cold, I shivered all about
Felt myself bust wide open from a tiny spout,
Turning colors of blue to pink, I scared myself to death
I thought myself abandoned as I looked a bloody mess.
In the nursery I laid, wrapped in my own blankie
Looked around at some strangers crying in their hankies,
I wondered about my Mom and Dad, did they leave me here?
Then I heard that voice again say, "that's my girl, right over there."
I struggled to take a peek at who was to be my dad
I took one glance and saw this man, boy!! was I sure glad,
He started flirting with me, calling me by name
I had to laugh at his face, pressed against the window pane.
He picked my little body up and held me in his hand
I took one look at him, and knew he was my man.
He kissed me on my snow-white cheek, softly like the wind
I can see we are going to be forever lasting friends.
The angels have a playmate, HE chose to keep just one
God blessed me with you, daddy, we too, will have some fun,
So here I am on Fathers' Day, looking pretty as can be
Mommy, you and I, are now a blessed family.
