What I Wouldn't Do
If I could give up, all my worldly possessions
To believe you are there, at the gates of heaven.
If I were a Queen, I would give up my throne
Know you are with HIM, know you're not alone.
If I held high office, I would honor all I said
To spend a night with you, in my arms instead.
Oh! If I were a pilot, I would fly up to the skies
Just to see your wings, your angelical smile.
If I could stop wars, give peace to mankind
Just to have you hold me, for one last time.
If I won the lottery, I would give it all away
Just to buy back time, to have another day.
Oh! If I were a genie, I would grant wishes today
To touch your face, that takes my breath away.
But I am a simple man, with nothing to give
To suffer a lifetime, of pain and emptiness.
Oh! what I wouldn't do, what I wouldn't say
Just to hold you one last time, if only for today.
I'll treasure memories, my mind has tucked away
Healing spiritually, as I place a rose upon your grave.
