Letter From Mom
To all my five children, I had to write to you
You need to hear, my unspoken words of truth.
I thought it just appropriate, I chose this time to say
How much you've given me, until my very last day.
Although I was frightened, scared beyond belief
In the beginning, you've made my days complete.
You've given me strength, support I needed most
You took time to care for me, to you, I make a toast.
To my eldest son, I'm proud of the life you've made
You've taken on responsibilities, at an early age.
I depended on you the most, as hard as it was
How can I ever thank you, for giving me so much?
To my second son, I missed you when you moved
I understood you had to leave, it was your duty to.
When you flew home, and decided to remain by my side
Never for a moment, was my heart so filled with pride.
To my eldest daughter, life was so unfair and unkind
I used you for my sounding board, time after time.
You showed me what you're made of, I admired you from afar
Know that deep within me, you were right there in my heart.
To my youngest son, sincere words could not express
All the days and years given me, you are the very best.
You took me into your home, gave me peace of mind
More than a place to die in, it was my Heaven at the time.
To my youngest daughter, you will always be my babe
You asked me for one thing, and my strength to you, I gave.
You were there from dawn till dusk, taking care of my needs
You took them all to my resting place, how proud can a Mother be.
Don't be sad, don't shed your tears, enjoy the life I gave
Don't waste your time grieving, for I am not at the grave.
Go on as I would want you too, be happy for where I am
As I took my final breath, I thank you for holding my hands.
Love Mom
